Looking for help to find the parts list diagram for above. Trying to fix bent control arn bracket

There was an early and late model in 1976 so giving you both. They could be the same where you are concerned. Early model number 71-16KS01 and late 71-16KS02

I think your inital problem is where the red box is. The nit was over tightened attempting to get the hydro lever to stay and not drift speed.  As you can see there is a gap between that cup and the flat piece.  Those should be tight and move together.  That way when you tighten the nut for tension, tension is actually applied instead of that cup staying stationary and only the bracket moving. 

I had a similar issue and repaired mine with just a little bead of weld.  Now will never have to worry about them coming apart again.

Yes what happened was the cup was not moving on the shaft and it bent the frame apart took it all apart straightened it cleaned the shaft and good to go now.
