New Wheel Horse?

Recommended Posts

princeuk21

Guys new to this board, so hello and thanks in advance for any help.

I saw recently that Toro is no longer producing the Wheel Horse classic tractor. Looks like they are focusing on the cheaper version that you would purchase at Home Depot.

However, is it possible to still purchase a new Wheel Horse? Pretty much, are there still some new ones availble at dealers throughout the country.

My dad has a 16 hp Wheel Horse from about 1976, and still runs like a champ and can till the garden with the best of them. So now that I have my own house, I would like carry on the tradition. Let me know if there still a chance.

Thanks

There are dealerships and private owners here and there that have some for sale, and you can find low hours ones around. But, I don't believe that you can order one- you have to find a leftover.

Where are you located at? The last time I was at my wheel horse dealer for a part he still had one last "classic" model left (brand new). The dealer is in Mansfield, Ohio.

Another question, have they been clearence out. Or are they still at their retail price.

Everything written above is true. There may be some units left at a few dealers, but that chance is becoming slimmer each day. Every once in a while you see one come up on ebay that's new. Your best bet is to do a search on ebay, craig's list, local ads, the ads here and other internet sites, to see if you can find a low hour Wheel Horse. If you were closer to me, I might consider selling you my '98 Classic 314-8, which btw, still only has just over 300 hours on the clock.

But, shop around and I'm sure you will find a low hour one, if you're patient.
