Grasscutter47354 2 #1 Posted March 9, 2020 I’m desperate for some help. I got my grandfathers old lawn tractor. Really wanting to restore it as much as I can. I wanna strip the whole thing down to frame. I need advice on where to order seats, belts, basically wanting to know the best of the best of websites where I can find literally anything I need.

ebinmaine 73,010 #3 Posted March 9, 2020 Looks like you've got an early 90s 314-8. Great tractor. You have absolutely found the best place to get information and advice. There are lots of places to get parts. Several of us have spares. There are parts breakdowns available and lists in sections on the site. Lots of standard parts like bearings and seals, tune-up stuff can be had locally and online. A to Z Tractor is a favorite of mine for good used parts... Let us know what you need and keep asking questions....
953 nut 60,367 #6 Posted March 9, 2020 (edited) Always like to hear about second and third generations showing some love to the family . Many of the parts you are likely to need can be obtained from Lowell at Wheel Horse Parts and More. https://www.wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/ The '96 314-8 is a great garden tractor, your grandfather chose well when he purchased it. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,524 #7 Posted March 9, 2020 The tractor serial number makes it a 1996 model year along with the mower deck. Reverse the first 2 digits of the serial. 1996 tractor - 2 pages https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=73400&quick=1&type=downloads_file 1996 mower deck https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=78360&type=downloads_file&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy Garry

peter lena 9,315 #18 Posted March 9, 2020 welcome to the site !, the verification that you have a 96 model , and from what i can see , very good paint and clean fresh model/number tags gives you a great start. if the rest of the paint / finish is like that , i would recommend just giving it a thorough rub down with a clean rag and penetrating oil , to preserve what you have and see what it looks like.. RandyLittrell 3,906 #19 Posted March 9, 2020 You came to the right place! And welcome to Red Square!! We would love to see some pics and you might think about cleaning, polishing and getting it in good mechanical shape before blowing it all apart and restoring it.
