Kohler KT17QS (series II) oil pressure switch hole stripped

Recommended Posts

So I noticed the brass reducer on the pressure switch was leaking oil where it meets the engine housing. Seems the PO may have been the culprit. What are my options and not drop any of the filings down the hole?

The brass should strip the threads before the cast. If that hole is in the cast block. I'm not familiar with that engine. You might be able to just run a tap through the existing threads. Load the tap with grease and the grease will trap the pieces. Go slow and you should be fine.

Yeah the cast and brass are both stripped. I do see threads farther down in there. Thing is I believe the are tapered threads.

Well I had a plug laying around that was the right size. Guess I’ll do without the pressure sensor.
