C-Series14 15 #1 Posted January 31, 2008 From what all my books say and what little I know on the 1973 models, the 16hp Auto was basically what became the C-160. The 1973 16hp model uses the same drive belt as the 10, 12, and 14 hp models. There was only one "D" style tractor in 1973 and it was the 18hp Auto. Now on the 16hp Auto under "attachments", it shows 23x9.50-12 tire chains as an option so that tells me it had 12" wheels. BUT, it also shows an 8.50-15 Ag tire but in parentheses it says 5 bolt hub! The D-Series uses 6 bolt hubs. If I am wrong, I will have learned something cause I have always thought the 16hp was basically a C-Series! lol! :D
nylyon-(Admin) 7,882 #2 Posted January 31, 2008 The above post was split from the photo gallery. The original discussion involved a 1973 D-160, where the D series didn't start until 74, 73 was just numbers. As Bill calls them "A horse with no name"
Jim_M 179 #3 Posted January 31, 2008 Karl, Thanks for fixing that for me. I had just posted the 73 18 automatic picture and still had 1973 on the brain when I posted the D-160 picture. Jim
