Others might be able to chime in with sizes here or you could check the manual but I think they're just regular grade 8 bolts.

To the best of my knowledge there not a stretch to yield type modern head bolt.

As Eric sez -- I just go to the bolt store (usually TSC) and grab a handful of grade 8's. And of course I come home with a mix of 8's and of course another handful of misc grad 5's ---- and .... generally a couple another item or 2!

Bolts is bolts but Kohler uses a thick washer.  which they sell for over $5 each.  they are about .115" thick

Are the washers hardened steel as well?

To test hardness, take a triangle file to it. If it files easy, not hardened.

Hi Guys. I appreciate all feed backs. I like the original parts to make my engines like factory. Resurface heads and block.to new crank bearings. Kohler head gaskets. Bead blast block. Only paint the lower end of block. All shrouds sand blasted primed and painted in factory color.

Nothing but the best..

Based on the "file" test they are not hardened...  Why they are over $5 each ...no clue.

Maybe because they are so thick?
