If one spent the same amount of money today on a flimsy box store mower, they wouldn't have it for 35 years let alone MAYBE 10 years if they were lucky. Guest 88vic #3 Posted December 21, 2019 I will also add that even a dealer sold tractor at that price now isn't much better, still flimsy frame, you may get a better quality engine but that's about it. Seems they are all going with the brand called General Transmission and the housing is plastic, gears are plastic. Tuff torq is another one, a little better but not much. Dont count on having it long. All designed to fail at a certain hour range unless you are putting it under a load like pulling a heavy cart or pulling your boat trailer, it will speed up the process.They want you to spend $800 to replace the trans unit or buy a new tractor to keep the money flowing.
