Take lots of pictures cause youll need

them going back together. Don't know

how far your going with your rebuild

but what l used to clean up the rust is

the  electrolysis method. It removes paint

and all! Post lots of pics!!

Lol, I’ve got 2 projects apart in my garage now and 2 more apart in the shed. I’ve always had trouble finishing one before taking the next one apart.... What all are you gonna do on this B80? I’ve had several of those trannys apart if you need help on that.

Whoa. I’m just going to do one at a time. I just want to clean it up and paint it replace all warn parts and anything that has baling wire on it. Haven’t seen any on the B80 yet. But the raider has several. The tie rod is wired on

At what point did the bailing wire operator look at his job, stick his hands on his hips with his chest stuck out with pride and say, “Yeah, that’ll do just fine!”?

Nothing wrong with bailing wire repair job!    It has gotten me home a few times,     :confusion-confused:        but sooner or later I guess a slightly more permanent repair would be in order.              :ychain:

If it can't be fixed with the above items just junk it.

Can it.

Toss it.

Heave it.

Chuck it.

Or paint it green????

Well this afternoon  “Dirtpoor” stopped by for a visit and some horse talk, turns out he lives in the same neighborhood as I do,  I also had a chance to give his tractors a quick once over and he’s got a couple of nice projects. Welcome to the forum and the addiction “Dirt”.  Nice to meet you!  It’s good to have another W. H. guy so close.

It was great meeting Denny tonight. His tractor collection is something else. His work is excellent. It’s great to have someone with his experience living in the same neighborhood. 👍 Denny when you get bored you are welcome to come help me 😁

He is a damn nice guy and his tractors are like art. It’s going to be great to have a professional living right behind me for advice 👍

Alright made a little progress tonight Denny came by. We spend some time talking and beating on the right rear wheel. It was rusted on. Got it off with a sledgehammer. Denny gave me some rear rims to replace the back ones. In the last picture the tie rods have these flat pieces metal that stop the wheels when turned so far. Denny said he has never seen those before. Has anyone else seen the stops.

What was your patina method?  I have seen those stops before, but can’t say if I have any like that...

Yes but mine is shorter then yours, also mine is only on the right side steering linkage too. But my WH came with a right side discharge deck so I just figured the left side they wanted a very tight turning radious for cutting around sharp corners. But that was just my guess when I noticed it.
