Anyone Done this?  How well does it run???

My p216 surges.  I removed the intake which I found loose.  I totally cleaned the carb and ran it in the ultrasonic a few times.  I took the intake apart, drilled and tapped the tabs for 10-32 screws and used motoseal between the 2 halves.  I replaced the intake and exhaust gaskets with new ones and used copper coat on those gaskets.

After all this is still surges.  It idles and part throttle ok but if you increase the throttle to full faster then in alight increments then it just bounces off the governor.

I found a nice clean p220 carb on eBay so figured I would try that and see if that helps at all.

So who has done this and how well does it work???

Are there any differences in the Venturi size?  If not, I can’t see how they would be any different...

The venturi is larger as well as the main jet. If you change the jet it will work. You can also put a 16 or 18 hp carb on a 20 and change the main jet.

I actually worked on this more today. I found i needed to go bigger on the main surprisingly.  Found out that mikuni jets for and I took a 110 jet and drilled it out to 1/16th. Tractor seems to run well.  Will post a video later
