jerry potaracke 3 #1 Posted December 13, 2019 good morning to all i recently put a new kit in my wheel hose onan engine carburetor . carb number dd4 date 79 my onan engine b43gao16 (16hp) AND IT will not idle. it will run at full throttle i adjusted the main screw at ONE AND ONE QUARTER OUT AND THE IDLE SCREW ONE TURN OUT AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE AIR CLEANER COVER THIS CARB MAY HAVE AT ONE TIME BEEN CHANGED WHICH WOULD MAKE THOSE INSTRUCTIONS IN CORRECT THANK YOU Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

wallfish 18,114 #4 Posted December 13, 2019 Anytime the carb settings are given in a manual or otherwise, that is a starting point. You will need to adjust the settings while it's running in most cases but sometimes you get lucky. The engine manual will give clear direction on the entire process.
