D-160 Lift Linkage

Recommended Posts

pgiro

The lift for the plow on my D-160 is not lifting the blade off the ground as it used to. I suspect there is a problem with the lift linkage. I can see that the piston is operating properly with plenty of travel and I have plenty of hydro fluid so I suspect that the lift arm has somehow moved or slipped on the shaft such that even though it cycles properly, it's not lifting the blade much off the ground. Can the lift arm move on the shaft or is it fixed? Thanks in advance.

It is a one-piece assembly so suspect you have a broken weld.

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I will have to look at removing the lift linkage and having it welded, or maybe it's possible to weld it in place without taking out the linkage..

That appears to be one of the easier ones to remove. Take out 4 of number 3 bolts and it should fall or lift out depending on what else is in the way.

Having the exact same issue with my D200.  Did you ever find your issue?

Thanks.

Yes, as Garry had suggested, the weld was broken. Very easy to remove the lift linkage. I ended up buying a new assembly on eBay but if you can weld it it's an easy fix.

I recommend welding it on both sides. When you pull it out you'll notice that it is only welded on one side

That's my issue.  Wasn't bad to remove.

Thanks.

If it bogs down, see if you can disconnect the hydraulic piston from the linkage and see if the piston moves freely without bogging down.

Something might be causing it to bind. Mine had a pin that was too long and it was hitting the frame.
