Tractorhead   9,212 #20 Posted May 16, 2020 @Flat Thunder Channel sadly bad luck if a Strap rip up or is underdimensioned. I ain’t be paranoid on a Lift at all.  But to have a Lathe on a Strap lift, i think would be more paranoid even if use just a 5 Times oversized Straps.  It’s depending on the Weight on the goods and the situation and the things you have to lift with, if the goods are sensitive like a Lathe i would take at least a 20 times safety on Straps or even better using chains.

Hope the machine didn‘t damaged at all.  was it a Model 3983 ?
Flat Thunder Channel   178 #24 Posted May 20, 2020 Is it bad I forgot the model? I think it is a 3996. The fall broke my quick change gear box handles at the quick detent knob. I since bought two different headstock units for spare parts. Thinking about making some cool accessory with the extra parts. Flat Thunder Channel   178 #25 Posted May 22, 2020 I just checked I was off a digit it is a 3986. I used it to repair the u-joint coupling on my 843 Bobcat. You can see it working on video #2. I am no machinist, but I can make chips on a good day ;).
