cjb398 25 #1 Posted November 24, 2019 Can a mower deck and a tiller be mounted on a 312-8 at the same time? I'm not going to use one or the other while both are attached. Rather, I'm moving my equipment to another property, and it will be easier to move them this way. Thanks.
JCM 10,229 #2 Posted November 24, 2019 I would assume as long as the belt that drives the tiller is not on I don't see why you could not move those 2 implements together as long as you are able to put the tiller in the full lift position ?
cjb398 25 #3 Posted November 24, 2019 Yes, how to have both the deck and tiller raised is my main concern and what I'm not sure about.
JCM 10,229 #4 Posted November 24, 2019 Now your getting picky, only kidding. Could you ratchet strap the tiller in the lift position by resting it temporarily on a block of wood and run the strap through the fender pan and just use the lift for the mower deck ?

JCM 10,229 #6 Posted November 25, 2019 I am sure many members are reading this thinking why doesn't he just remove the damn tiller, just trying to give you some options to work with.

I'm moving all my stuff to another property. The tiller is already mounted. It would be easier moving the mower deck if it were mounted to the tractor than otherwise.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,499 #8 Posted November 25, 2019 I don't see any reason you could not mount both at the same time. Each connects to a different arm on the rock shaft but don't try lifting both at the same time. Something is going to break. Mount the mower, block it up as high as it will go and secure it there with a ratchet strap across the tunnel and running boards. When you have the tractor parked lower the tiller to take the strain off the lift. Garry
The Tuul Crib 7,339 #9 Posted November 25, 2019 I would be a little concerned about the deck getting caught up in the dirt as you were tilling.
