Wow, it took me a second to figure this out :confusion-confused: ( Anthracite), I've never burned coal before, that's cool!

Since we have a 1981 Bronco, I understand the "Bull" comment.... :handgestures-thumbupright:

(If you'll turn your head for just a sec, I'd like to "borrow" something off of that WH..... :D)

Here is what I have been pulling. (There would normally be larger loads on the cart, but traction issues driving up the hill to my working wood pile necessitates this size.)221B3288-EFA5-4CF2-98FF-8758B04648AB.jpeg.c69ecd30d8a844fcd1b6d1014f45f419.jpeg

Nothing exotic. Just red oak from two large tree trunks. I paid a local tree service $800 to drop these a year ago. They brought their bucket truck to trim out the upper limbs. Both trees would have probably hit my house if I had tried to drop them.

This photo shows before I started hauling wood. You can see the stumps on the right edge. My ‘endangered’ house is on the left of both photos.

PS -  Both of these trees died off 4-5 years ago. Probably because of the retaining wall added to my driveway in 2000 followed by the horrendous heat and drought we had on 2012.

Someone will say it didn’t happen, because of no pics, but...  I acquired a large piece of cross-laminated timber and decided to make a work bench.  It was 9’ 6” long, and 60” wide.  It is 4.5 inches thick, and is Southern yellow pine.  It is laminated in a factory using glue and large presses.  My first chore was to rip it down the middle so I have two 30” wide pieces.  Got that done and got both pieces home.

Now, how do I get these 250 pound pieces into my basement?   Did I mention there is no one here to help?  I slid the first piece off my truck onto the yard cart hooked to my WH. It would not balance since there was so much weight hanging off the rear, so i strapped it to the cart.  Pulling it around to the basement door was easy...  Now how do I get it through the 48” door and into position?  There is not enough room to pull the tractor and cart with a 9+ foot long slab through the door...  I unhitched the trailer, and manhandled the cart through the door and slid the slab onto the newly built legs.  It worked out pretty well, and I now have a super duty work bench.  My Father in law saw the second piece in my truck, and he is now the owner of that slab!  Danny

I lifted my doe to the rafters last night with Stormy.  She was heavier than my 5 point by far!

Well Jim, I’m still in my jammies catching up on the RedSquare chatter of the day... and re-reading about all the Big Show joys in life!  I’ll get off my butt sometime soon, I need to bring her in by 7 tonight!
