Another Commando of sorts.

So we just get a new tractor shed built to keep the snow off our tractors this winter so we have room in the garage to work and my son brings home another one.

Well, there's certainly worse things the kids could be do'n. Tell'm to grab the horizontal engine ones while he's at it.

Yeah I’m not to sure about this one. It’s in pretty ok condition. It does have a sticker on it from the shop I worked at 30 yrs ago though. This is actually the first vertical shaft tractor he’s brought home.
we pulled the head and it looks good. Got spark. Pulled the tins to clean out the mouse nest. If the trans is ok it’ll be a fun little mower. AB2FCA38-88DE-4220-81E6-CFB8A6B8F647.jpeg.f489edfb9de2139e4a435adeccf76142.jpeg

You can always make like a rat rod or some other creation. Have a couple beers and think about it.

Obvious sign that you raised him right!   Keep it for your grandchildren when the time comes for driver training.

I’m pretty sure this is the only way to work on this style “tractor”. 73EF664F-38A2-4092-BCA7-2B43672CFEFD.jpeg.3c6aa41af836fe5cdf1864d065697b01.jpegI got a lil more room in the garage now too. 😁

The decals and layout are actually pretty cool on this little tractor. It’s got a cool look but it’s a repair and maintenance hell.
So many idlers and guides and the deck takes forever to get off!!

Wow! I see why these are unwanted.
I have some hope for this one yet but I hope it doesn’t cost a small fortune to refurbish. 😁

Don't discount that machine just because its one of the less sought after vertical shaft models. I have the 8 HP version, and it proved to be a capable little machine until the Tecumseh VH80 started giving me more headaches than it was worth. It's currently sitting in the back corner of my shop, was thinking of parting it out but my oldest son has decided he wants a tractor of his own after cruising around on the 753 a while back. May give it to him, repowering and fixing it up would be a great project for him and I to work on (as if I didn't already have enough projects going:lol:).

Here is a picture of mine when it was still being used. Good luck with yours and looking forward to seeing your progress with it. image.jpeg.aac129889a034d929c11bdbdcf621680.jpg.b29591f43e3c9d52aa720114b78214cf.jpg

Made a tractor OR today. 😁

Got some 4’ led shop lights to mount above the door. No dark spaces now! E4FF18E5-6C2F-4F83-9649-9E5557E76ADD.jpeg.6ed547e72f01925a9f8b83d03a160691.jpeg4D3BB773-C3FE-4E2B-B800-DD984BFD2B8F.jpeg.f464269be531bec9fc7a3dae061e8a91.jpeg
