TractorDude 7 #1 Posted October 27, 2019 I finally finished restoring my C-105 with a K241as engine, but noticed that if I turn on the headlights with engine running, the ammeter goes negative. It shows a positive reading with the engine running and lights off. Does anyone know how much (amps) would this normally system produce?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,561 #2 Posted October 27, 2019 The 1980-84 C-105's all have a 15 amp charging system. Garry 1

953 nut 60,714 #4 Posted October 27, 2019 If your electrical connections are corroded or not tight they can have a significant voltage drop across them.
pfrederi 18,771 #5 Posted October 28, 2019 Head lights are 35 watt so two are drawing about 5.6 amps. Maybe another 1 amp for tail lights. You should be good. however you say it shows charge when running no lights on. Have you load tested your battery?? Should show charge briefly after starting up but after running for a bit it should go back to Zero. If the battery is bad it will continue to show a charge. (or if you have some bad connections o 1
