Toro 266h

Does any one know if the decks (she'll itself)on the 266h are different lighter than the ones on the classic series?  I saw one advertised on CL for $650, I am in need of a bagger which does not come with it. And are they easier to come by than the ones for the classic 400 series?

Thanks

I think that depends on the model of deck.  In 2015 I purchased a brand new deck 48" off off a 269/270H for a song and dance that I planned on converting over to fit my C165.  It was a very easy swap since the deck shell had all the holes punched in it to attach the hardware from a C/3/4/500 series deck and the spindle shafts were switched over from a rusty, old, but quiet 48" deck.  The ONLY modification I had to do was cut off a bracket that was used for the 200-series tractors.  I think the whole swap took me a little over an hour but anyone with a minor amount of tools and ability should be able to achieve the same.  I did notice that my new 48" deck lacked the 1/2"-ish round bar welded to the deck to around the perimeter that acted as armor for hitting objects as one mows.  As far as availability, I really think that depends on one's location.  With South Bend being a shade over an hour from me, Wheel Horse tractors are fairly common at this late date.
