Hydraulics C series

So in my attempt to add hydraulic lift to a 8 speed I have come across many gear pumps thar would suit the task. But after reading about the sunstrand and easton only use low psi around 1,000. Will the hydraulic cylinders and control valve from a salvaged horse handle higher 2,000-3,000psi?

Once i have this item under wraps I can start putting this together.

The hoses on my hydros look to be 100R3 Based on size and flexibilty.  100R3 is rated at 1250psi

Give Lowell a call, he can fix you up.    https://www.wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/hydraulics.html

I would not use the C-Series hydraulic parts at higher that there normal operating pressure. A hydraulic leak under pressure can jet hydraulic oil into human tissue and cause very sever issues for a long long recovery.  It's one are to have a lot of respect for, and just not worth the risk.

Consider using an automotive power steering pump or some other appropiate rated hydraulic pump on your 8 speed.

You won't need 2-3000 psi for hydraulic lift

You can run a higher pressure pump for those lift parts but definitely set the relief valve in the control valve much lower. Doing this will bypass the higher pressure back to the reservoir. I don't know what the rated pressure is for the Wheel Horse hydraulic parts but you could probably find out with some searching. Even if the hydraulics parts are capable of the higher pressure, the mechanical parts will most likely fail under those higher loads

Thanks for the input guys! I originally was looking and power steering pumps but found them not compact enough so looked at the gear pumps. I have decided to go with the type 2 power steering pump since I am doing a remote reservoir anyway and get the lower psi.

Now i have to wait for machine shop to finsh the crank that got spun when the rod gave to put this all together. Had lots of time for prep and research.
