Other than pulling one plug at a time then cranking it around to the compression stroke and feeling the resistance is there any other way of checking compression on a bench? ZXT 2,401 #2 Posted October 6, 2019 Does it have a starter on it? If it does, you can easily turn it over using jumper cables. Ground the ground lead and touch the other to the starter post. If you don't have a compression tester, you can rent one from an auto parts store like Oreilly's or similar. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
