CasualObserver 3,406 #26 Posted October 28, 2019 Very cool to get a set of originals.... is that sidewall crack bad? It's not like there is a surplus of 1045 WH branded front tires available, I'd say lucky to find them on a donor machine. If not capable of doing it yourself, I think I'd take that to a tire shop and have them boot or patch the inside. They won't want to because it's small and a pain to work on. We don't run that much pressure in GT tires... but you don't want to chance that ripping through and your tube blowing a bubble out there.

Eric, here is what I am still needing: Choke / Throttle cables which I'll probably buy new from Chuck McColly at Portland Saturday Dash panel as current one has an extra hole (might have one on my parts shelf, will check) Key switch Decals which I'll probably get from Terry Steering wheel Steering shaft which if I can't find one then will just make it Drive belt guard as current one has been cut up (might get one from Rodney) That is all I can remember as of right now. Thank you D. J.

hcminis 1,532 #31 Posted January 13, 2020 Sorry for the long stretch between updates. Here is a short update video. Not a lot has changed. Only item left to find is a steering wheel. However, received a message last night that a friend might have a steering wheel. Hope to get everything to sand blaster soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRGFpzmMPoE
hcminis 1,532 #32 Posted February 3, 2020 Well I have some good and bad news about the 1045 restore..... The good news is it will still be saved and possibly put back together as it was.... The bad news is I won't be finishing it.... Before I get any hate mail....lol..... Was presented with a trade that I just couldn't pass up. I'm sure you all will understand and agree it was a good trade. Will post more pics later in a new thread. The tractor came with a 4 HP Kohler also that runs but needs some TLC before mounting it on the tractor. Unfortunately it is not the original motor but will work for me. There was also a NOS set of mower deck blade tips included. The Vari-Drive handle has been welded and different knob put on. Think I'll leave the handle but put correct knob on it. Still a good trade I believe. Sorry for any disappointments....but hey I like the new little Horse. 4
oliver2-44 8,861 #33 Posted February 3, 2020 Great Trade. Looks like it has the original front tires.... and the semi-rare imaginary steering system and gas tank option too.

wminmi 13 #37 Posted July 16, 2020 nice work!! I too have a 1045 that someone before me started to repaint and "redo"....been fighting the urge to tear mine down and redo it correctly. Interested though in that repair "plate" for the transmission/axle mount. I don't know if mine has that or not, but wondering if tou have the PDF file or bulletin or whatever that gives the measurements? Again, awesome job!! Here's a link to one of them...
