chip61 666 #1 Posted September 30, 2019 Bought this as a backup mower a couple months ago. Had a few issues to sort out-had to clean carb, adjust pto and replace cam plate for motion lever. Finally got to take it to Mathews and give it a good run. Not a bad tractor, would be fine on a normal yard, but what I cut down there is tall thick and often damp. It did okay, but I could really tell the difference vs the C160 or the 416H. I may take it back home to use on my yard and my son's and move the C160 back to Mathews. The hood and seat pan have been painted some dark almost burgundy red so (they don't look that bad in photos) they're going to have to be painted with new decals. 5 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I think I need to replace the mounts as I can see the engine shift as I engage the pto, but I have it so it doesn't slip now. chip61 666 #7 Posted October 3, 2019 Looking at the pic that FAST posted, I see he has the same spring on the pto arm that mine has. It seemed to make everything on mine stiff and want to bind up, so I really thought it was added later, but apparently I was wrong again! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Burnerman 759 #8 Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) Drill a small hole and mount it here. My 78 came this way. Shortly after they hooked it to the top of the pto arm. My sons C85 is that way. peter lena 9,316 #11 Posted October 4, 2019 you could change that clevis to a heim joint for smoother operation, also back track to the start of the rod, next to the battery base line, probably find a sloppy fit there. added about a 1/4' of washers , teflon washers on each end contact point and lubricate , you just gained leverage advantage , making work like butter. just my own experience, pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
