ncfordman 0 #1 Posted April 18, 2009 Ok, so it's probably impossible to do, but if you were to put the best Wheel Horse tractor models in rank order, what would that list look like? How does the D-Series rate for example? Would a better question be: Which tractors are the most saught after?
BTK07 0 #2 Posted April 18, 2009 ncfordman, Man, are you going to sture up a hornets nest with that question. I think that's the hardest question I've heard on here. Bill
HorseFixer 2,013 #3 Posted April 18, 2009 Wow that is a loaded question but glad you put sought after. This is my list and only my Opinion! I split it up in new and old. I realize the 1045 is kinda a 65 but still a neat tractor with a wisp of 64 vintage. OLD STUFF Pre 64 1) Ride away senior 2) Lever Steer 3) RJ-35 1955 with briggs & fiberglass hood 4) Other RJ35's 55 thru 57 5) 754 6) 701 7) 1045 NEW STUFF After 64 1)C-195 ~ 1984, 01-19KE02
ncfordman 0 #4 Posted April 18, 2009 HorseFixer - very nice list. I'm just getting into the WH pen and I just wanted to know what to keep my eyes open for if I saw an attractive buy. Now I need to go find some pictures. I'm sure you guys have seen the Wheel Horse history book, with input from Cecil Pond: Straight from the Horse's Mouth: The Wheel Horse Story by Michael A. Martino ISBN 0970666802 / 9780970666802 / 0-9706668-0-2 Publisher Stemgas Pub Co I saw it once on Amazon for $359 but it was snatched up quickly.
