WH654 23 #1 Posted September 25, 2019 I have a raider 12 with a side discharge deck that needs a new deck idler pulley and all new belts so, after some research it looks like i first need to get he model number of my machine but i can't find one on it? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,528 #2 Posted September 25, 2019 ID plate likely long gone. What is the width of cut? 36" 42" 48" and side or rear discharge. Do the blades have a 5/8" x 3/4" double-D center hole?
WH654 23 #3 Posted September 25, 2019 The deck width seems to be 42” Side discharge.
953 nut 60,381 #8 Posted September 25, 2019 Chances are this manual will be helpful to you. The idler is a standard hardware item, take the old one to ACE and they can fix you up. Belt will depend on mower size.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,528 #10 Posted September 25, 2019 Here are the possibilities going by the size and type of blade hole 1966-1967 model RL-426 replaced by 1968 model 5-1421 1969 model 5-1422 1970 model 5-1423 1971 model 5-1000 1971-1972 model 5-1001 -These 42" side discharge decks all use blades with 5/8" x 3/4" double-D center hole unless the spindles have been upgraded Removed some that use a later design front belt idler assembly. WH654 23 #11 Posted September 25, 2019 What information do I need to figure out what the belt sizes would be? I would really like to put all new belts on it
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,528 #13 Posted September 25, 2019 Just a guess on the deck model. You may spot something that is different but the belts will be the same. They are listed on this page. Click on the fuzzy picture. You can download the file from there. Garry
Achto 29,433 #14 Posted September 26, 2019 It looks like you have all of the old belts, you could take them to a local place that sells belts & have them matched up to new ones. I would suggest getting Kevlar replacements.
WHX?? 51,916 #15 Posted September 26, 2019 Tractor looks to be in really good shape guy but deck rode hard and put away wet. Clean her up before above mentioned belts and she will mow great. All that crap under and on top of the deck puts not needed stress on even new belts.
WH654 23 #16 Posted September 26, 2019 Thanks for all the help Fellas. Agreed WHX24, I am going to pressure wash the deck before I put the new belts on. The tractor ran terrible when I got it so I rebuilt the carburetor and it runs great now . I really enjoy running and working on this old tractor.
WH654 23 #17 Posted September 29, 2019 Well I was lucky enough to find a place less than an hour from my house that had everything I needed. I put all new belts on it including the drive belt a new idler pulley and I had to free up the idler pulley arm slider because it was stuck pretty bad. I also patch the hole in the deck with some thick rubber that I had we’ll see how long it holds up.
