417-8 flywheel magnets

Hey there friends. I’ve had a 1986 Wheel Horse 417-8 for about 6 years now. Great tractor ( I love this thing! ). Recently I lost charge so I pulled the flywheel and noticed the magnets came unglued. During prep work to reglue the magnets. One broke. I am desperately looking for a replacement flywheel it complete set of magnets. I’ve called all over my location with no luck. Could someone point me in a direction to purchase a used one at a decent price? Thanks friends.

Need a flywheel or a set of magnets for a 417-8. Engine is a KT17QS spec# is 24363. If anyone could point me in a direction of someone familiar with finding used parts for this engine model. Thanks friends.

Paul...Welcome to Red Square.

 

   I took the liberty to merge both of your threads and move them to the "Engines" Section.  When you start asking for parts, you need to use the "Wanted/Classified" Section.  The other post is obvious to be put in the Engine Section.

 

   OK...that said...even though you broke a magnet, if it still fits together nicely...you can glue the 2 pieces in place and the magnet will still function as one.   A -Z Tractors would be an excellent place to start for parts.

 

   Once you start a thread on a subject, it is best to keep posting in that thread to advance the subject...otherwise, the story of your horse gets lost in the different sections or threads.  Much better to keep the story in one place.  Easier for others to search for you also.

Great, thanks for the tip. I really appreciate all the info. I really want to keep this machine running. It’s been a great help to the boys and I with our firewood business. They just don’t make machines anymore that can take the work load we ask of it. Again thanks fellas!

I just did this repair on my 418a used jb weld .you need to clean the flywheel magnets and flywheel and sand them well make sure you have the magnets in the proper sequence and use a small amount of the jb weld clamp them securely and let them dry for at least a day also make sure that they are not sticking up any place. You can use the broken one if you can't find a replacement . Use the high strength jb weld it fit all the necessary qualifications, heat oil resistance ect. I got it from home depot.
