huey 7 #1 Posted September 22, 2019 Just wondering if all the wide base oil pans are same depth? I have a kohler magnum wide base 10hp that came off a wheel horse that bolts from under the frame and wondering if it would fit a 16hp magnum wide base that doesn't have the bolt holes threaded in the bottom, just from looking they look the same? oliver2-44 10,398 #2 Posted September 22, 2019 Both wide and narrow base oil pans come in several depths. You will need to measure the depth of each one. However, engines with a shallower pan have the oil dipper on the bottom of the connecting rod cut shorter If the 16hp has a deeper pan, you can trim the oil dipper to fit your shorter pan.
Lee1977 7,052 #3 Posted September 25, 2019 Kohler standardized the crankshaft height on K-series 10 HP trough !6 HP wide base engines when they came out with the K-Series. I would think the Magnum Series wide block would all the the same .height also at 6" from base to center of crankshaft same as the K-series. I just measured my 12 HP magnum and it's 6"
