Guest 88vic #1 Posted September 14, 2019 Any suggestions or previous experience of freeing up clutch pedals on the 3/4 inch rods ? Other than heat and penetrating oil. Really stuck on there. Thinking of cutting them off but dont really want to.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,441 #2 Posted September 14, 2019 Got a stick welder? Clamp a piece of scrap metal to the round bar. Put the ground clamp on the pedal. Crank it up and run a few beads on the scrap metal. The current running through the rust will heat it up and should blow the rust out. Garry 3

adsm08 1,429 #5 Posted September 15, 2019 I've had good luck gooping open ends with anti-seize and heating the work piece until the anti-seize runs in. Usually a butane torch is enough heat for that to work.

SylvanLakeWH 23,798 #7 Posted September 19, 2019 Just freed up one on my C85 95 105 hybrid build... Used pb blaster, heat, time...tap back and forth...repeat... There is also a small hole on my pedal where it attaches to (around) the 3/4 rod...goes through to the rod...I liberally applied pb blaster in that as well and it soaked in and through...
