I bought the carquest carb/choke cleaner, ran brushes through it and rebuilt with the new walbro carb kit that arrived today. I tooled around after reading online about which jets do what. The high jet I was told regulates the air/gas mix at idle. I can now keep it running while throttle is all the way down. However, the throttle isn't fully useful as it should be because rpm's don't start going up until throttle lever is half way. I did lean it out so that it's not actually puffing out visible exhaust while idling or wide open. When I go from I go from the throttle all the way down to all the way up it will blow out a bit of black exhaust. Not sure if it's still too rich or it's just because of the sudden increase of fuel entering the carb. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,488 #2 Posted August 27, 2019 Moving the throttle control and not getting any carb response is usually caused by too much slack in the throttle cable. This can be reduced by loosening the clamp that holds the cable casing to the engine and moving the casing back towards the throttle control on the dash. Tighten the clamp. Trial and error till you get it where you want it. Garry
