Jerrell, is that the one on ebay? It's a 603. (or most of one anyway.)

The footrests had me thinking 603, but without the side shot I couldn't be sure.

Congrats Jerrell. As for what can be told..... how about we start here.... and then see what questions you have left? It was an "economy" tractor. Used the same choke/throttle setup as the 1960 Suburbans, but had a decal instead of a plate cover. Had a half moon steering wheel, cast iron long foot rests same as the 1961 models, and a unique frame. No fenders or toolbox unless you ordered them extra.

:omg: just one more ?, it looks like the 6 hp engines were a lot larger then, at that time, and it looks like the 11 or 13 hp are even smaller than the 6 hp. in size, i'm assumeing that the engines were made of a lot heavyer metals than these throw aways.(better hide when i say that) but ...i see a lot of people are satisfied with them so far.

They're not smaller in reality. the 11-13Hp HF engine is about the same size as a 10-12Hp Kohler or Teccy. Maybe even a little bigger with that big freakin air cleaner and muffler. Keep in mind the cylinder is tilted at 45 degrees, so the just don't "look" as big. I've still got my 13HP sitting on the shelf right next to an HH100 that is is eventually supposed to replace.

Here's a thread from MTF where a guy put the 13Hp one on a Charger 9... which has considerably more room under the hood than your new 603.

Not quiet. Similar but had no parts or part numbers in common. Not even the plastic knobs. The controls for the 603 were much more cheaply made than the ones on the 400/550.
