Firebug 267 #1 Posted August 5, 2019 I just replaced the belt and fuel pump on my 314-8. I went with a mr. Gasket electric fuel pump since I’ve been through 3 mechanical ones in the last year. It’s a low pressure pump. Engine starts ease and runs great. Problem in having is now when I engage the pto the engine stalls. I checked my connections, belt, mule drive etc. everything is clear and not binding in the pulleys. Pto starts to spin then the engine quits. Any thoughts? Firebug 267 #4 Posted August 5, 2019 Turned out it was the seat switch. Forgot to hook it back up when I put the fender back on 2

With the PTO engaged the switch will prevent the starter from cranking the engine, it will also kill the ignition system unless the seat switch is actuated.
Firebug 267 #6 Posted August 5, 2019 Easy fix. Just mowed the back acre. Runs great. Only problem I’m having is the pto keeps disengaging
Lee1977 7,232 #7 Posted August 5, 2019 Tighten the trunnion on the PTO engagement rod one turn. If that doesn't keep it engaged tighten it one more turn. One turn should do it if the PTO wasn't slipping when you mowed with it.
