Will a kohler fit in the place of a Briggs?

It’s a C 1100-8 with a brigg. The Briggs is blown, the body is good... you know what I’m getting at!! Will a kohler fit in there? I’m sure they had all the frames drilled for Kohlers? Right? Thank you.

That is absolutely a conversion that can be done. I've never done it myself but several of us have.

Perhaps you could fill us in a bit?

I have a GT-1848 that was a Briggs twin originally, it sat up on a plate steel spacer mount. Holes were already there for a K-series engine. I used an older 14hp.

Most of the B&S machines used shaker or spacer plates because the pans are much lower then a Kohler. But regardless, yes the holes ought to be there. Have seen a few where the belt guards didn't line up quite the same, but easily made to look right.
