gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,528 #4 Posted July 29, 2019 What is the serial number on the shift pattern decal? Garry
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,528 #6 Posted July 29, 2019 Will guess it is a model 854. Click on the picture. Garry
FarmboyFresh 69 #7 Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) I was torn between the this and the 753. but so hard to determine. I have a guy getting it going for me and he thought it was the 703, my biggest thing i am looking for now is the pully guard. it seems between these models, some had an indent where the numbers went and others did not. Thank you for such a quick response... I am sure i will be back on here with more questions!! Edited July 29, 2019 by FarmboyFresh

oliver2-44 10,783 #10 Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) you've found the place, right here to get the best Wheel Horse information available. One of the advantages and challenges of WH's is there is a lot of parts interchangeability between models and years. Also the company owners were very thrifty and were known to "Use Up" parts left from last years model on the early production of the next year. Some of this could be the "conflicting information" your finding. Does that 854 have original paint, or has it been repainted? Racinbob 11,991 #17 Posted July 30, 2019 As already mentioned, a 753. They switched to the newer style front axle that year with only the Ranger and 603 carrying over the older axle. Also, 63 was the last year for that steering wheel. I'm sure you already know that the seat isn't original.

FarmboyFresh 69 #20 Posted July 30, 2019 sorry, Last post was supposed to go out yesterday. Seriously thankful for all the information.. For now I am just getting it running.. within 10 mins of my guy having it he sent me a vid of it running so that is hopeful. loved the sound of the engine. got new tires in already and there was a few things that were needed to make er go. I'll check with him tonight and keep you folks posted.. glad to have such a great community to turn to. and yes, probably just going to spit shine it for now and ride it. but i work at a place with a full spray booth and ability to produce vinyl graphics.. i may do a restoration on it at some point, but the good Lord knows i don't NEED another project right now was just too good to pass her up.. got er for $80 delivered 1 1

oliver2-44 10,783 #25 Posted July 30, 2019 While it sound like you have access to vinyl graphics, our Vinylguy in the vendor section has the designs already done and provides great products. The film material he uses is so much easier to work with than some other brand graphics I've gotten. If you do restore it, there a pinned thread at the top of the Restoration section that will answer some of your paint color questions
