New to wheel horses. Restoring a SB-371

Recommended Posts

Graber0525

I bought an SB-371 that I tore apart and I am repainting and having the engine worked on to get it in good running shape. I was just wondering if anybody has experience with these tractors and any advice you may have for me.

I'm not sure that I've heard of an SB-371, but if it follows the numbering pattern of the other "special" tractors, the SB-421 was a Special Briggs 42" deck, 11 horse power. This would be a Special Briggs 37" deck, 11 horse power. Hmmm?

Learn something new new every day...  so the SK series was Special Kohler?  What was special about using Kohler in a Wheel Horse Garden Tractor, given the long standing relationship already?

It was special in that it was a bunch of left-over parts from previous years. Look at the body style. 1978/79 sheetmetal on an eighties tractor for one thing.
