Onan motors... How many hours do they last?

Recommended Posts

Just reposting this question that a new member here had on an older post as I'm curious as well...

"How many hours are on your Onan powered Wheel Horse?"

MY main worker....

I have a 97 416H with 900 or so hours.  I think I need to de-carbon the heads adjust valves, etc.

It runs great though. I know about taking apart the tins and cleaning for me,  has worked out fine by doing it every 3 years.

FOR ME, this has worked out very well.  I've owned it since 2007.

416H with around 1170 hours. Previous owner told me he had heads decarbed by dealer at 1,000 hours. It gets run hard for 4-5 hours every week in tall, thick sometimes wet grass. I bought it in spring 2017 and it immediately became my primary mowing tractor.
