No clue as to what model or anything. I did find a ser no with shift pattern on plate under steering wheel. Looks like 41524. Says wheel cree above ser no. Gear box says E24 0. Briggs and Stratton magnetron B-556771. Stamp on engine is 17042 0666-01 7004141. Has rectangle mower deck and a second one came with it. Trying to find out any info about this tractor.

The engine is not original to the tractor so we can't go by that.

Comparing serial numbers a couple of possibilities.

The model 953 has 15" rear wheels

The model 854 has 12" rear wheels

:WRS:  @CannerCounrty I added the picture from your other post.

What you have is a 1960 Suburban 400 that has had an engine transplant. The original motor would have been a Kohler K91. It does not look like the PO hacked up the hood to do the transplant, that's a bonus. Looks like it has some functional home made wheel weights. A great base for a resto or get it going the way it is & just enjoy it.:handgestures-thumbupright:

Here is a link for a manual.

Sorry about misleading on the possible models. I did not know the shift pattern was on the metal plates.

Possible mower decks?

Nice looking old tractor! Have you had it running? If it's been sitting it'll likely need the carb cleaned, and then It'll probably run fine.

What are your plans for it? Use it as a worker or restore it?

Nice looking 400 survivor there. Have fun with her! The deck under it with the wheels is a '61 The other deck if it doesn't have wheels might be a '60.

Could be a 1960 550 suburban. Battery would have been under the seat in the tool box.

I could be wrong but I feel the deck isn’t the 61 but I fact the 60 that has been hacked on and a wheel add!  Just my two cents!!🤔

It was a barn find that i recused from going to scrap. Did not even know the show was going on at south mt fairgrounds. Im new to all this. Not sure if i want to sell the way it is or to restore it for my girls to show. No clue where to start. If i had some guidance close enough to show me or guide me. I would restore.
