wh500special 2,262 #2 Posted April 9, 2009 Ben, I had a 16-Auto that I never was able to free up the bypass valve. For that tractor I just put the rear end on a dolly and pushed it around that way. And I always made sure I parked it strategically so that it didn' block anything I needed in case I couldn't start it. But I have had a few other tractors where an impact driver (the kind that looks like a screwdriver and you hit it with a hammer) was enough to free it up. You can also try visegrips, but since the screw is pretty hard - and in a tight spot - they can be tough to use too. Whatever you do, don't get too carried away because if you snap that sucker off you're going to have a bigger project on your hands. Good luck on your new toy.
