NYJack 9 #1 Posted June 25, 2019 Here is question I need help with. On my hydro wheel horse when I turn the key I get nothing, not even a click out of the solenoid. Some times the little light is on about the drive switch but not always. If I jump across the two poles of the solenoid it starts right up. That is not fun as sparks fly and I need my adult kids, non mechanical, to mow the lawn.... So, do you think it is the solenoid or one of the many safety switches? Thank You! 953 nut 54,314 #2 Posted June 25, 2019 The wiring on various years and models has changed over the years. Can you be a little more specific? The problem is probably a corroded connection in the wiring to the safety switches. It you take a small jumper from the battery "+" to the small wire on the solenoid will it crank over? If it will then the solenoid is fine.
The Tuul Crib 7,333 #3 Posted June 25, 2019 I would check all electrical connections and could possibly be the switch.
Razorback 1,035 #4 Posted June 25, 2019 I vote for safety switch somewhere.

By chance do you have the model number and serial number from the decal on the rear fender pan under the left side of the seat? Failing that post all the numbers off the engine decal including the serial number. Garry
953 nut 54,314 #8 Posted June 26, 2019 (edited) You have a 1991 312-H This manual has your wiring in it. Edited June 26, 2019 by 953 nut
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,912 #9 Posted June 26, 2019 I think 953 nut misread your model number. Your tractor is a 1992 model 51-12KE02. Might not make any difference but just in case it does ---- Garry
