Reasonable fuel pump replacement for 616-Z

Recommended Posts

Cardsfan

I just bought a 616-Z (with Onan P216V), but the vacuum fuel pump quit working. OEM replacements list for $130-150.

The only aftermarket pumps I can find are for the P216G (horizontal shaft version). I cannot find one listed for the

P216V. Will the P216G fuel pump work with my P216V engine? Is there an electric fuel pump option?

:WRS: Some guys have converted to an electric pump. I don't know any part numbers or brands, but a low pressure electric pump will get you rolling again.

I don't know why a P216G pump would not work. I have a P220V . I haven't looked at it in quit a while but if I remember it's the same pump.I had a 616Z but something was messed up with the way the deck went on, might have ben me when I took it off and put it back on, bu it didn't mow very well at all so I sold it the other year at the WHCC show. I more recently bought a 724Z but it has deck problems also. haven't had time to look at it yet, but I figured if nothing else I'll keep the T260 24 hp Onan off of it good luck
