Red Power

Brought home my second 416-8 in a month.

Why didn`t you guys warn me about the "addiction"?

Anyhow, where/who is a good supplier for blades and belts?

 Here`s a pic of #2.

Has about same hrs, 1100ish, as first one.

Thanks gentlemen.

First tractor has yet to get the deck back on as fabbing in some pieces that were rusted out.

Second one came ready to mow, well almost.

Amazing how some people fix stuff.

Anyhow, it was hard for me to get used to hearing an engine run as opposed to my old box store mower that the blades turned at 40K rpm!

Yeah, I got some iffy belts/blades and dolly wheels that will need replaced

I am VERY pleased with these twin girls!

Maybe triplets next month?

Fix, is an interesting word choice there.

I don't have a mower on any of our tractors so I can't comment on the belts for that but I have good luck with Drive belts from either A to Z or parts store Gates Green belts.

It's been said many times on this site in the past but we are here to remind you that a hair covered horse is a herd animal and .... so are paint  covered ones.

somewhere around two and a half years ago I bought the first one of our herd.

I was so impressed by it, and the great people on this website, that I went and found another one.

A few months later I finally got my honey to try out a short ride and needless to say not too long after that she bought her own.

We now have two each, that run and drive, plans for at least a couple more, and a healthy parts pile.

you might as well go order another shed or small barn to store the rest of your horses.

Blades I get from Ebay - Pro Parts Place the brand is XTH toughest  blades I have every had in the last 42 years of owning a Wheel Horse.  Drive and mower belt I use original Wheel Horse. I'm still on the second drive belt on my C-120-8  and the third set of mower belts and the fourth Mule Drive belt. Wheel Horse belts are expansive but they have serve me well. The old c-120-8 drive belt that has hung in the garage for the last 29 some years I put back to use on my 312-8. It had a 1/2" belt on it when I got it and it had started to jump when pulling hard.

Like Eric I don’t have a mower on any of my tractors...or at least any of the running ones anyway...but for drive belts I buy mine at Tractor Supply...they seem to work pretty good and a lot cheaper than WH belts. What I do know is that you have to keep an eye on these Horses, they have a tendency to multiply when you’re not looking...a little over three years ago my 1277 came home, I was looking for a small garden tractor to use in my landscaping business, figured it would do everything I needed, and it did. Shortly after buying it I was doing some online searching for some parts for it and came across this wonderful group of “enablers” :ychain: known as RedSquare. Now three years later I am up to 6 with my recent 753 purchase. They are kind of hard to find in my part of the country, otherwise I’m sure I would have at least twice that many:lol:

You can get power rated belts at your local auto parts store, usually off the hook or shelf, without ordering.

Its remarkable that whenever I have needed a belt, its never been more than about 1 mile from me.

I buy Gates PoweRated belts.

Just make sure you get the proper length belts you require.

WH and aftermarket belt part number coding doesn't instinctively reveal that info.

I love my onans, I have about 5, 416-8's that's why I being forced almost to bring 2 of them to the show to sell, but if they don't I will be happy to bring them back home. I'm actually bring 8 tractors to the show to sell becuase my heard grew to much and need to thin down. So what ever sells, sells and what don't I'll bring back home.

Just recently I bought a 90 520-H with a 60" deck planning on flipping it, but it cuts so nice and runs so good I've decided it got to stay and has became my main mowing tractor. Now I don't need the 516-H that I've been mowing with the last couple of years. It runs real good but it's on the trailer for sale at the big show. If it sells it sells if not I can say I tried, right .  :hide:

I buy my parts from Dale's mower service, he is a vendor at the big show, a factory Toro dealer, and a collector also.

I saw somewhere, and I THINK it was amazon where they had standard blades and "hi-lift" blades.

I don`t know if the blades turn fast enough to create any lift.

Maybe I read it wrong.
