DG1776 20 #1 Posted June 15, 2019 Hey everyone. I just got back from a short road trip with a buddy who was lucky enough to pick up a really low hour 520H for a good price. During this trip I spoke with the guy selling it who was asking if I could help identify another wheel horse he had. I wasn't able to locate a serial number on it so I can't do that. If you could be so kind as to help identify this I will relay it to the owner of it so he knows what to do with it. Thanks in advance. I was thinking it looked like a Commando 8 or something similar. PS look for my buddy's post on his new 520H if he gets around to it in the next day or so. He got a really nice machine. I may be more excited than he is. If he doesn't post something I will. The Tuul Crib 7,339 #2 Posted June 15, 2019 Im guessing its an 857? Great looking tractor tho! Someone else might know!
953 nut 60,393 #3 Posted June 15, 2019 Looks a bit newer than an 857, perhaps a '69 Charger 10 based on the Tecumceh. Of course it could be a replacement engine.

I agree, that Tecumseh and the newer style “large” mowing deck make me thing it’s a Raider 10.

Stepney 2,354 #8 Posted June 16, 2019 Between the engine and trans I'd say it's a safe bet Raider 9/10. Either could have the larger deck, and both are more or less the same machine.
stevasaurus 23,307 #9 Posted June 17, 2019 Just an FYI...the 857 and the other short frame horses had stirrups not running boards. Terry & Spraky nailed it.
