Help identifying please

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.  I just got back from a short road trip with a buddy who was lucky enough to pick up a really low hour 520H for a good price.  During this trip I spoke with the guy selling it who was asking if I could help identify another wheel horse he had.  I wasn't able to locate a serial number on it so I can't do that.  If you could be so kind as to help identify this I will relay it to the owner of it so he knows what to do with it.  Thanks in advance.  I was thinking it looked like a Commando 8 or something similar.

PS look for my buddy's post on his new 520H if he gets around to it in the next day or so.  He got a really nice machine.  I may be more excited than he is.  If he doesn't post something I will. :)

:WRS:

Looks a bit newer than an 857, perhaps a '69 Charger 10 based on the Tecumceh. :confusion-confused: Of course it could be a replacement engine.

I agree, that Tecumseh and the newer style “large” mowing deck make me thing it’s a Raider 10.

Between the engine and trans I'd say it's a safe bet Raider 9/10. Either could have the larger deck, and both are more or less the same machine.

Just an FYI...the 857 and the other short frame horses had stirrups not running boards.  Terry & Spraky nailed it.  :orcs-cheers:
