dclake1971 0 #1 Posted June 15, 2019 (edited) I just changed the PTO to mower belt that had been on my 520h for 8 years and now it has a vibration that almost shakes it off the idler pulleys, but if I tighten up the slack any more, the belt start to smoke. Correct belt for the mower was checked (103 x 1/2). Anyone have a trick to adjusting the pulley tension right? Also should the mule drive and deck turn freely when not engaged? Wondering if I adjusted the clutch too tight also. Thanks in advance! Edited June 15, 2019 by dclake1971
daveoman1966 3,841 #2 Posted June 15, 2019 (edited) You probably have a bearing drag either in the front Mule Drive, or one of the 3 spindles of the deck. Ck mule drive first. The V and the Flat idler pulleys MUST spin freely, with no wobble or drag. NOTE.. the belt at the PTO bel MUST be on the inside V of the bell ...
