Rob.A.700 306 #1 Posted June 14, 2019 I am reviving the wife's charger 12. The old starter no longer functioned, so I salvaged one off a 310-8. My question is did the later kohlers run counterclockwise?(looking at the crank) It popped a couple of times now it spins pops (almost) and spins the other direction. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,394 #2 Posted June 14, 2019 Engines turn clockwise when looking at the flywheel. Think of a vertical crankshaft in a push lawnmower also clockwise with the grass exiting on the right off the blade. Garry
Rob.A.700 306 #3 Posted June 16, 2019 I second guessed myself. The starter wasn't getting enough current to get past the compression stroke, and it was bouncing back.
