Fuel Pump for Techumseh HH120

Recommended Posts

wholdguy

I need some help for an original leaking fuel pump.  The leak is where the fuel line from tank goes into the pressed in fitting in the pump body.

This fitting no longer seals into the fuel pump and leaks.  Where can I buy a replacement pump of some kind?  I don't want electric.

Thanks

G.

Wholdguy, I would buy a universal pulse pump off of the internet. I don't think the original style is produced any more.

Here's a link to one for reference. They're cheap. If you don't use Amazon, just type in "lawn mower fuel pump" on ebay or similar and you'll get about a million results. The original pump will unscrew and you can install a hose barb.

Thanks for the link.  I used it to order that inexpensive pump.  I will fit it on our Charger 12 this week.

This will save me a trip to the local machine shop to have them tap 2 NPT threads into the old pump body.

Good to hear!

I wouldn't toss the old fuel pump - they are difficult to find if someone wants one that's original. You could easily tap the body yourself. If you don't have a tap and die set, they can be had pretty inexpensively! They're a good thing to have anyway if you ever need to clean up nasty threads.

Yes I will keep it for future use.  But I needed to get it running to mow the yard this week.

Maybe I'll order a tap/die set from Harbor freight.

Good News!

$8 for the fuel pump and $6 for the fitting into the carb and the whole thing is back running again with no leaks!

I'm happily mowing the lawn again.
