I'm suppose to go look at this tomarrow.   No attachments.  Seller is asking 450$.  Not sure what model it is. Gentlemen is an retiree who just likes fixing em up, doesn't know alot about it model wise.

I'm thinking along the same line, as Richard.  That's the same steering wheel that's on my Commando along with some other similarities.

That kinda sorta depends on your goals and what the seller has done. If he rebuilt the engine and/or transmission that is worth something. If it runs and drives well and you just want something to drive around at shows and don't have a strong desire to sand and paint one yourself then go for it.

Does look very similar to my Commando 8. Gas tank is different from mine, I have a metal one with the filler off to the side

I also spot no deck hanger hardware / brackets, and cant see the back to check for axle mounts or what hitch.

May not be set up for anything but putting around.

As stated, he could have just painted the motor & trans, or he could have done full rebuilds. Would help to drive price with those questions answered.

It does look pretty. If that's what you're looking for, a done tractor, go for it. If you're looking for a worker, I'd say move on.

$450 sounds to high a price in my opinion.  It does have a newer Kohler K181, that’s about the only thing I see as a positive. Is that white thing on the hood just sitting there of is there’s hole in the hood? Not a fan of the side view mirror and removing it will most likely leave a couple more holes in the hood.

Sorry, but his many “custom touches” only take away from its potential value....just my opinion.

:text-yeahthat: Definitely not pretty enough for my hard earned $450.  :angry-nono:

I like the painted gloss black muffler, he obviously never ran it much. I would be very cautious on this one by the pictures

For $450 it had better have real decals and something better than a bungee cord holding the gas tank, a battery, and at least a mower deck.

It doesn't really look like a quality paint job... And what's up with that plastic lid looking thing on the hood?

The GM side mirror is a nice touch..

Without much more info, I'd say its a $200-250 tractor.

Horse Play

Looks to be a 1968-69 tractor due to the three-spoke steering wheel and a hood with the plastic exclusion plate.  My bet it was originally a Tecumseh model.

I bought my 857 two years ago for $500 with a deck and blade included.  It is a clean, original tractor that runs great that I mow with every week.
