The Tuul Crib 7,339 #1 Posted June 8, 2019 found this one locally on Facebook about 20 minutes away from my house. He said it ran five years ago tried to start it when l got there but could not. I’m sure it’s something as easy as points and condenser perhaps. What confuses me is the decal says 8 speed but is only a 3 5

The Tuul Crib 7,339 #3 Posted June 8, 2019 He said it was a 72 model with a k 181 on it.
ebinmaine 73,002 #4 Posted June 8, 2019 1972 would have been a worded description like raider or charger Yours is a 73. It's the only year that didn't have either a worded description or a series letter or number like B or C Series or 300 or 400. 1

The Tuul Crib 7,339 #6 Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) The guy said he bought it five years ago to make a pulling tractor out of it. But never did. He now rebuilds outboard motors for someplace up in New York. He also restores antique automobile. He had a 48 woody in his shop when I got there in perfect shape! clueless 3,263 #9 Posted June 8, 2019 That's a good'n. Over the last 38 years I've owned a lot of WH's but my first and still my favorite was my 74 B-80 4 sp, I miss that one. Not much it wouldn't do, cut grass great, pull my trailers around, haul dirt and gravel, even used it tilling. If you needed to slow down a little just ride the clutch a little, might wear the belt out a little sooner but it works great, still do the clutch thing with all my manual trans. It may become your favorite, enjoy the ride .
The Tuul Crib 7,339 #10 Posted June 8, 2019 Got it home and got it tore down. This tractor has been kept inside its whole life and there is not a bit of rust anywhere unlike on my last two builds. So far this one will just get the minimal to get it running although the paint job leaves something to be desired. Whoever painted it was no Picasso! Got the battery hooked up when I got home went to try and start it and there was gas shooting straight out from the side of the fuel pump. So that will need to be addressed. I have a new carb for it sitting here in the shop which I will hook up to it . I pulled the head off to check out the top end and it appears that someone has been into it before and it looks like a 10 over piston was put in. There is no slop at all in it. There is hope!!
