Al C. 1,428 #1 Posted June 3, 2019 I popped a wheelie today. 16hp Kohler, full throttle, third gear, new tires, on a concrete driveway let out the clutch forgetting I was in gear. Tires squeeled, front-end lifted a foot, nearly stopped my heart. I'm glad I have a high-back seat. I've driven Wheel Horses for fifty years - never done that before! WOW! 1 2

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,371 #4 Posted June 3, 2019 It is a scary feeling if you’re not expecting it...done it here while back on this one, and I was in 1st gear about half throttle, I’d hate to see what it would do in 3rd and wide open 2
WHX?? 51,916 #5 Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) Any chance we can get you wheelie poppers to do it again?!?!? BTW we do like videos too! Show 'em how it's done proper Dan @Achto! Seriously just glad you just crapped your knickers Al and she didn't come over on you. that would have been serious hurts or worse. Maybe we should fab you up some wheelie bars? After I get it finished and get a set of wheelie bars on it I’m sure there will be a video or two 3 1
Cee245 846 #7 Posted June 3, 2019 I remember doing that on my Dad's 91 416-8. I was in the field and there is a small hill. I BEGGED my brother not to tell on me. I believe I had to do his chores for a bit. Cory 1

The second time she drove it the front end raised up about a foot and she shut it off and never got on it again. 1
Sparky-(Admin) 23,323 #10 Posted June 3, 2019 My 656 with a little lightweight aluminum Honda will flip right over if your not careful. I added weights under the frame close to the front to keep it “grounded” . 5
JoeM 8,448 #11 Posted June 4, 2019 Good thing the deck was on......figured that saved you! I had one with a bad drive belt that all of a sudden decided to grab! It looked like a circus act!
Al C. 1,428 #12 Posted June 4, 2019 Yeah, I can't imagine how high it would have gone if I hadn't had that 200 pound deck holding it down.
chip61 666 #13 Posted June 6, 2019 My 80 year old neighbor always ran hydro machines. His broke so he walked over and asked to borrow my other neighbor's Wheel Horse which was an 8-speed. He got on, started the engine let the clutch out too fast and did a wheelie. He got off and went home without saying a word! 1
