Docwheelhorse 2,740 #1 Posted June 3, 2019 Hi All, getting close to the show and can't wait!! So... I have a 1277 with a broken steering wheel... right thru both spokes. I didn't see the typical roll pin so I pulled off the "horn button" found a 1/2" or 9/16" bolt going down the center... are these steering wheels splined or a taper lock or? Am I going to destroy half the tractor trying to get it apart because I don't know what I'm doing? Help Please and Thanks Tony
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,530 #2 Posted June 3, 2019 I do not know but here is the ipl showing a 4875 steering wheel. I remembered this service bulletin. Click on the fuzzy picture and you can read it or download if desired. Garry
pfrederi 18,719 #3 Posted June 3, 2019 Bolt woodruff key and a roll pin...Guess they didn't want it to fall off. Never argue with a man who wears a belt and suspenders....
The Tuul Crib 7,339 #4 Posted June 3, 2019 No taper on the shaft. Lot and lots of PB blaster and patience! Good luck!
