Hello All--yesterday when I was rolling the clunker Lawn Ranger out to take pics I noticed it still had the knockout filler panel with what looks like an original on/off ignition switch for the recoil start Tecumseh. Well when I saw it I gently snapped it out and mentioned to Sparky that I thought they where worth some decent $$$ and that I was going to either list it by itself or leave it on my shelf. Well he looks at me like this---> <_< and says "Man thats just a cheap Electrical panel filler plug how many do you want....." (He's an electrician) Well the one I have is way old and has 2 coats of paint on it etc. After hearing that encouragement :omg: I took it and walked over to the 416 I got off of Charger9 and promptly snapped it into the dash where the hour meter was missing.

So is that filler panel worth $$$ if it is an original one or am I full of beans and its a .12 filler panel going all the way back to 196? when they used them?

Thanks

Tony

Your buddy is right. I still have one on an old L 157 .It was for the headlight set.It was origionally just a chrome knock out plug. Now, it's a bit rusty.

All of the holes in the dashes and panels of Wheel Horses are standard and the Chrome Electrical plug hole fillers (like for fuse boxes) will easily snap in to fill them (Hardware Stores have most of them and an Electrical Supply will have the larger ones), there are even plugs for the squarish-rectangular ones on tractors. It is a little tricky measuring diameters to get the right plug the first time.

OK now for the nitty gritty on these plugs. :omg:

Are they similar to what you can find in a hardware store .... YES.

Are the original plugs the same as what you can find today ... NO.

The number of mounting tangs are different and the thickness (from looking at them on their side) is different (the new ones are thinner) then what you can find.

Sorry Mike .... BUT Tony sells me good Wheel Horses at cheap prices I gotta stick up for him!
