peterson 0 #1 Posted May 28, 2019 How do you remove cover to check vacuum line to fuel pump and also to remove flywheel. All visible screws were removed but cover on upper right side seems to be fastened somehow. Only stuck in upper right corner. Any tricks/suggestions? Thanks in advance. redone 45 #6 Posted May 30, 2019 Hi guys. I am deriving a onan off of a 520. After removing fly wheel I notice the oil drain pipe was very loose. This fitting to the block is very loose. It seems the pipe threads maybe damaged. Before I dig into this. How can a fix to this problem. Has anyone notice the same on there motor? it's a 1988 520HC. Thanks Bill Hopefully you didn't place the weight of the engine on the drain pipes. Check for any cracking of the block. Yes, the loose drain is a common problem. I run a pipe tap in just enough to cut some new thread, then replace the pipe nipple with a new one. When installing the new nipple, have the threads perfectly clean and use red threadlocker. redone 45 #8 Posted May 31, 2019 I received your notes on drain plug. I thought of the same fix, but just know when your fixing these oil leak. I am cleaning this engine, removed flywheel sand blasted. Soak engine with degreaser and clean clean. Of all the tractors I own, this one is a real horse. It's a 520 HC built between 1988 to 1989.
