william orndorff 7 #1 Posted May 24, 2019 I just had my third after market (cheap) mechanical fuel pump quit on my 312-8. Thinking about an electric pump. I assume I'll need a low pressure pump. Any suggestions on the particular specs or where to find one? The lady of the house has forbidden me to buy mechanical pump from Toro at $189.00.
pfrederi 17,147 #2 Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) I use Facet Posi flo. get one with 4psi or less. I get mine from Spruce aviation. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/solidstatepump.php Around $35-40 and i figure if they use them in planes where fuel pump failure is big deal should be reliable enough for my WH. Oldest one is going on 4-5 years now. Edited May 24, 2019 by pfrederi

william orndorff 7 #5 Posted May 26, 2019 Thanks for the help men . I know I need a pump that puts out 4 psi or less. How about flow rate? Are they all pretty much the same? Also should they be mounted close to the fuel tank?
kasey54 304 #6 Posted May 26, 2019 I have a couple, they just need to be mounted low. Works great.
