Nope.

I told Trina about the card trick after seeing on Redsquare somewhere.

She tried it...

Works like a charm!!

It's getting there. I also learned from a old timer to use a paint/primer as the primer on rims cause its less apt to run. He was right.

Sad to say my friend who had my hood for 10 months barely did anything to it. It's still really rough. He does beautiful work but forgot all about it then just quickly threw some filler on it sanded it quick and called it good. I'm not thrilled at all. I want to bring it to our local show this weekend if i can make it so I primered it and sprayed it with some cheap rustoleum just to get by and make it look red. Maybe if I keep it back in the line up no one will notice. It doesnt look bad in the picture but it really is. I will get more pics in the day light. Once this weekend is over I will go back to the drawing board and find someone to do it correctly or find a hood in better shape. Wish my grandfather was alive. He was a body man all his life. He passed when when I was in my early 20's long before I got into these tractors.

Definitely a skill set all it's own.

I've always been much more capable on the mechanical side.

Maybe it's time for both of us to learn more about makin 'em purttyy....

Don't hide the rig in the back though. Most won't even recognize what you see.

the hardest thing about body work is getting over the fear of trying it

I’m not much of a body guy, more of a fabricator if you will.  Just go slow... and remember that most of what you do can’t be worse than it was to start with!

Just got a text from my friend who has my rj35 hood saying he was going to be dropping off tomorrow morning. Exciting since he has had it for 10 months to do some body work to it.  Thankfully we have both been busy and I havent had time to finish my 35. The hoods the last critical piece I need to put it all together minus the pulley with the friction disk. I will need to prime and paint it but I'm happy with that.

A fella told me years ago.

Painting a car is about 95%... Not painting.
